-Hip Spica: A hip spica is a way to ACE wrap the hip joint to add comfort to a groin or hip flexor strain. A strain happens for lot of reason in the hip flexor or groin area (I see it mostly in Soccer, Football, and track). Whatever the reason for the strain, we can use a hip spica to add support, and limit some of that harmful ROM during recovery time. Here is a good explanation of the hip flexors from wiki
The hip flexors are (in descending order of importance to the action of flexing the hip joint):[2]
- Collectively known as the iliopsoas or inner hip muscles:
- Anterior compartment of thigh
