Have a Valid Patient Start with FOTO
Reviewing the patient report is an important step in the process of making sure the starting point at intake is a valid start for the patient.
- Look at the Primary Measure Score and the FOTO Mean Score on the patient report.
- If there is a 10-15 point difference between the two scores, whether above or below FOTO’s score, look at the response to the actual functional questions.
- If the patient was asked more than the usual number of questions, between 9-14 questions, it is likely the patient did not understand some of the questions and under or over reported on intake. These two occurrences on the same intake can indicate that you may need to have the patient redo the intake.
