Meet Jeremy Denzer, Personal Trainer and Health Coach
Today we highlight Jeremy Denzer (located in the far right in the photo above). He’s one of The Training Room (TTR) staff members. TTR is a division of OSI Physical Therapy that focuses on both the aftercare training that follows physical therapy, but also a continued life program to keep you on a healthy plan for life with nutrition, training, and guidance from top notch staff.
Hey there, I’m Jeremy.
I am Personal Trainer and the Program Director with The Training Room. I have worked for The Training Room since September 2011 and have loved every minute of it so far. I primarily work at our Somerset location, but I tend to make rounds to other clinics every now and then to help grow our Training Room services. I couldn’t ask for a better team of people to work with!
I received both my undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Minnesota. Both of my degrees are focused on exercise science. I have a real passion for fitness and wellness in general. I went to school for exercise science because I wanted to have an opportunity to help people achieve a healthy life through exercise. There are tremendous benefits with a well -designed exercise program and I wanted a career that would allow me to help people see/feel those benefits.
The thing I enjoy most about my career is the people I get to know and work with from day to day. Every work day is different, which I enjoy. No client is alike. You know what they say “variety is the spice of life” and I get an extreme amount of variety with each day.
Part of my job with The Training Room is creating exercise/wellness programs for our clients and for the public. Whether it is a weight loss contest, a 5k race, etc., it is very rewarding to create a program in which someone has an opportunity to change their life for the better. Another part of my work with The Training Room, which I am very passionate about, is Strength and Conditioning for athletes. I have been blessed to work with a lot of athletes in my time with The Training Room. Being the Strength and Conditioning coach for New Richmond Middle School is excellent. Getting the chance to improve kids’ athletic skills, competence, self-esteem, etc. is something I am very passionate about.
It seems fitting to have a career in fitness because my life outside of work is very focused on fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. In the summer, spring and fall I spend a lot of my free time mountain biking and golfing. I got into mountain biking last year and fell in love with it. I also like to spend my free time hiking through the woods and enjoying nature with my boxer dog – Bowser and my brothers’ dog – Grizz. There is nothing like walking through the woods during peak leaf change. Which brings me to another passion of mine, which is taking photos.
My favorite activity/event by far, though, is running Tough Mudders. I ran my first Tough Mudder 2 years ago. There is nothing else like it! I am also very active in the winter. I spend a lot of my free time snowboarding and hunting.
Thanks for listening to my story. I can’t wait to hear yours!
