[Video] How To Tape For A Wrist and Thumb
–Wrist/Thumb Strains: A lot of the time a strain to the wrist happens when the wrist is forced into a ROM that is past normal. If you fall and brace your self with you hand reaching back, often time the force of the fall causes the wrist to be forced into a hyper extension ROM. Same thing with the thumb. A lot of times a sprain occurs when the thumb is forced into an exaggerated ROM. This can happen if the thumb gets caught and forced backwards (think of it getting caught and forced backwards while the hand continues forward), or even from a fall on an outstretched hand “FOOSH”. Whatever the reason an athlete may need their wrist or thumb (sometimes both), here is a “how to” video that I hope you find helpful.
