The History of Lake Fest: Preparation For Fun In The Forest 2014
In 1912, a single graduate became the first person to finish his high school education in a Forest Lake school. Over the last century, thousands of students have come through Forest Lake Area Schools, many of them staying in the area and helping to make Forest Lake the great community it is today. Lake Fest was created to recognize this history and honor those in the past and present who have played an important role in building this community. It also marked the beginning of a new tradition as Lake Fest becomes an annual event where residents and friends can come together and celebrate the life we love in Forest Lake.
The inaugural Lake Fest in 2011 was a tremendous success! It featured hundreds of area residents enjoying a warm summer day by the lake with great food, music, entertainment, arts and something for everyone. The fantastic weather and performances by Forest Lake Area High School students, and other talented local residents, provided for an excellent kickoff to this great annual event.
Lake Fest has grown bigger and better since 2011 with the addition of the Build A Boat contest, the Bald Eagle Waterski Show, Bass Fishing Tournament and the Movie in the Park. Click here www.fl-lakefest.com

This group along with other community businesses and organizations is working to keep the best of the previous Lake Fest events as well as add new events that celebrate our community. In 2014 Lake Fest will add a Pow Wow, Classic Car & Bike Show and the OSI Fun in the Forest 5k and 10k Walk/Run
