Feeling Blue Without The Green? Here Are Some Tips
No I’m not talking about money, I’m talking about grass. Green, green grass, the smell of fresh mown grass, the feel of it beneath your bare feet and lazy picnics on blankets…….
Hold on. It’s only four months until June! We are hardy midwesterners! We can handle it, right? Wrong. The winter blues is real. We seem to eat more, drink more and stay indoors more. We hibernate and turn into grumpy bears. Well, we can’t beat it so we might as well embrace it.
Here are some great ways to find some sunshine in your wintery life:
1) Bring happiness into someone else’s life:
Visit a nursing home.
Buy a coffee for the person behind you in line.
Shovel your neighbors sidewalk.
Call an old friend.
2) Pamper yourself:
Spend a day at the Spa.
Get a massage.
Get a spray on tan.
Go Ice fishing.
Organize a walking group.
Go skating with your kids/grandkids.
Take up snowshoeing.
Have a winter bonfire with s’mores.
3) Create some Fun:
Have a comedy theater night with friends.
Schedule Weekly Family game nights.
Plan a Superbowl Party with “Minute to Win It” games at halftime.
If all else fails, lay under a Vitamin D Deficiency Light or go to Mexico!
