Choose OSI Physical Therapy - Where You are More Than Just a Patient

A message from OSI’s CEO

First of all, I want to thank you for being a present or past patient of OSI and for believing in our commitment to serving you in special ways. I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy through the challenges of the COVID 19 crisis which has impacted all of us in some form or fashion.

Doing the Right Exercises is Important in Many Ways

I’ve recently talked to a number of friends and acquaintances who, during the months of the pandemic, are exercising less and have reduced their activity level. The closing of health clubs and the need for social distancing has influenced many to pull back and put their normal exercise routines on hold. Additionally, a number of people are simply not sure what to do to work out.

Reduced exercise can have many negative effects physically, psychologically, and emotionally. It is important for our physical and mental health to stay active. Many studies, including those at the University of Arizona and University of Illinois, have shown regularly doing the right exercises can help your immune system fight viruses like the coronavirus. Additionally, the right exercises can also help overcome injuries and painful conditions of the muscles, tendons, and joints.

We Are Here to Help You

If you are thinking you should start exercising more and are not sure what to do, or if you are experiencing a new or recurring condition that is limiting your movement or day to day functions, your OSI Physical Therapist would be happy to help you. She or he will assess your condition, listen to your concerns, and design a program specific to your needs and expectations. We can even help you set up your own home “gym” based on your needs and budget.

Most private health insurances allow direct access to physical therapy. In fact, HealthPartners and United Health Care have encouraged enrollees to first see a PT for back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions. If you are covered by Medicare, you will need a referral from your physician.

The OSI PT Difference – A Personal Connection with You

As one of the principal owners of OSI Physical Therapy, I am proud of OSI’s 40 plus years of serving you and tens of thousands of other people in our east metro communities. Over those 4 decades, many things have changed, but one thing that has remained constant is the sincere effort our OSI team members make to connect closely with every patient.

We strive to get to know our patients personally; our therapists seek to find out what is most important to each patient; and they design their therapy care for each person with a focus on the goals she or he wants to achieve.

To measure and assess our relationship with our patients, OSI, like many health care organizations, uses the Net Promoter Score (NPS) –

“What is the likelihood you would refer a friend or colleague to OSI?”

Over the last year, OSI’s NPS is 90, meaning over 90% of patients are “promoters” of OSI who are “extremely likely” to refer their friends or colleagues to one of our clinics.

I recently asked a number of our therapists,

“What do you do to get such high Net Promoter Scores from your patients?”

Here are some of the responses and all relate to creating a close connection with their patients:

“I really try to get to know my patients personally on every visit.”

“I ask every patient ‘What are the 2 or 3 most important things you want me to help you accomplish?’. Then I focus my care on those goals.”

“I always try to show every patient I care about him or her as a person.”

“I give my patients ‘homework’ to do related to their goals, and I measure their progress toward their goals every visit.”

Thank you again for your trust in OSI. I hope you give us a call, we would love to serve you again.
