An Easy Way to Increase Exercise and Eat Healthier

Why drive to the local farmers market and fight the crowds? Increasing exercise and healthier eating can be as easy as walking out to your own backyard! If you’re willing to make a small investment and put in a little work you can have a mini farmers market in your own backyard. If you think you need acres of land, think again. Raised gardens take up little space and with a small fence, keeps critters out, they’re easy to weed and pick the “fruits” of your labor. People use a variety of things for raised gardens from wood boxes to hay bales.
Growing your own fruits and veggies not only leads to good healthy eating and gets you outside, but it’s also also great exercise. “The National Institute of Health lists gardening for 30 – 45 minutes in its recommended activities for moderate levels of exercise to combat obesity”
