How I spend my free time

Lift weights, run, and bike and play basketball, softball and golf. I’m a big Gophers football, basketball and hockey fan, and try to watch every game I can (for better or worse). I also like to fish in the summer, and read and cook in the winter. In addition, I love to travel, eat at the Nook, and spend time with my friends.

What patients are saying

“The past two winters I have had both my knees replaced and it’s not a fun process to go through. I was just biking by OSI in downtown Forest Lake (I’m up to 12 miles at a time now), and I realized I have never sent a thank you to Peter Larson, Saul Helgeson and OSI. The first few visits to a therapist after knee replacement surgery is hard, painful and emotional. Both Peter and Saul were so patient and understanding. They both also added much needed humor to my visits. I have full movement in both legs now and my surgeon and chiropractor can’t believe it. I’m living life to the fullest again: hiking, biking and camping with my husband. Thank so much Pete and Saul. You guys are the best!”

“Peter is attentive and careful.  He gives explanation and instruction as he works; I didn’t know until Monday that the muscles around the hip include the TFL. He has given me home exercises and is patient when I ask him to check my form as I do them. I commented to him early on that I expected pain from him as a part of my recovery.  He inflicts it—breaking up the “knot” I’m dealing with—, but regularly checks my toleration limits; yesterday as he worked I told him that on that particular spot he could apply more pressure, and he did. I was particularly struck as we began the third appointment.  A few things were brewing in my life; at that time one of them was managing my morning and evening stretching/exercising routine, which now included his “new” exercises.  I said fairly frankly that I was tired, irritated, close to angry at the efforts I needed to put in.  His response was something like, “So you’re having some emotional reaction to the new situation.”   Excellent!  I vented, he listened and responded, and we were free to get on with the day’s appointment. I much appreciate Peter’s careful, attentive, and educational style.  I am glad to have found him on your staff.”

What others are saying

Pete’s excitement and enthusiasm for therapy is contagious. He is very motivating and compassionate, competent and insightful. He engages patients with the latest research and enjoys getting them back to an active lifestyle. He really listens to his patients as he works to find a solution to their problem.
