Valentine’s Day is almost here! Do you have plans yet? You might be stocking up on candy, chocolate or planning a fancy dinner out with your loved one. While these are common ways to celebrate on February 14th, it can be very easy to overindulge in the sweet spirit of love.

If you want to have a heathier Vday this year, consider some of these alternative ideas to express your love for one another. Flying solo this year? Don’t sit at home by yourself, grab your friends and head out for a group activity!

1. Have Dinner In

Going out to eat can be fun, but the problem with dining out is that you don’t always know everything that has gone into your dish. Why not mix it up and make a healthy, delicious meal at home together? It’s a great way to spend a couple hours catching up and working together to make something you’ll both get to enjoy.

2. Lace Up Your Skates

If you’ve got an outdoor rink or indoor rink near you, ice skating makes for a very romantic yet active date idea. It’s a fun activity that, as adults, you probably don’t think to do very often. Plus, it’s a great excuse to hold hands for a while ; ) So grab some hot chocolate and lace up those skates!

3. Exercise Your Funny Bones

If laughter is the best medicine, then hitting up a comedy club together is just what the doctor ordered! It’s amazing what spending a couple hours smiling and laughing can do for your soul, and for your relationship.

Exercising together is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself and each other. According to recent studies, exercising with your loved one can:

From swing, to ballroom, to hip hop, there are so many fun types of dance classes available that you could take together. Not only is it fun, but you’d be amazed how many calories you can burn in an hour class!
