Exercises For ACL Rehabilitation – 5 Parts
This is Elise, a 15 year old high level soccer player in Stage 3 of ACL rehabilitation. Here she is performing close kinetic chain exercises somewhat simulating her return to sport. These exercises emphasize stability in her hips to prevent re injury of the knee.
We utilize this drill below when approaching Stage 4 of ACL rehabilitation so we can capture proper mechanics of the take off and landing phases to prevent re injury. The first video displays poor technique where the knees drop inside of the hip. Conversely, the second video shows the correct mechanics where the knees push outward outside the hips and the knees remain behind the toes and the toes remain pointed forward.
